Catch a discount EMR ticket for just 20 pounds for return Sheffield to London on 7/29 Friday so even I have to wake up in the dark, still try!
Arrive St. Pancreas’s station at 8am. take the underground to Kensington Palace. Can’t think about poor Diana’s when she smiled awkwardly. Outside, it’s quiet but joggers, cyclists or peoples walking the dog are there so in the Friday morning.
Outside the Park, we walk towards Holland Park and go through nice residential area like Highland Street, some Meows with renovated buildings. Probably not something we can afford.
Walk into Holland Park, a nice Holland garden and a Japanese style pond and garden to greet you, a men practicing his taikoon making a good day to start. No one plays the big chess there but me!
We go to the Portbello Market and starting to see more tourists from there after 11am. Much attractions around are colourful terrace houses with typical staircase walk up to the door. When we arrive the NottingHill Book Store, there are already many visitors standing outside and taking photos. I just go nearby The Cable to get a coffee and crossiant to keep awake.
Then,we take subway to Woodlane station :Westfield Centre where the kids are keen to visit the Mi, Apple and Lululemon shops. Outside the mall is a big upside-down house museum and BBC Broadcasting Studio by the side.
Then just 5mins walk is another underground station “New Street Station “ . Yes, so confusing in London Underground Stations! When we arrive Camden Market, there are pack of tourists that reminds me of Mongkok Tong Choi Street or the weekend market of Bangkok. So strange that I am trying to stay away from such crowded places now!
just take a quick browse and we walk about 15mins to Oxford steet to have a Japanese noodle. 金田家That restaurant closed by 3pm so we just able to make it. Then we went to the Japanese food market(not the big one with food much more expensive)
Afterward, we walk through Soho to British Museum to just quick visit the Egyt room, it’s so hot and tired after lunch but the air conditioning doesn’t work as we expect so it’s great that is free entry for such museum so we can always revisit and enjoy there again next time.
Then, We walk through Liberty Street and Soho Street to a local Japanese store to buy a miso soup packs & mushroom sauce.
have a Japanese sushi as dinner and go to National Art Gallery to kill the last two hours before we go back to Sheffield. Again , feel lucky that is free to visit the art gallery while you may have to pay say €17.50 in Hague Art Gallery to see the same artist’s masterpiece 😂
